I was excited to get started on this watermelon. I started by painting the rind edges green, and then painting the inside red along with the beadboard. I used this fun striped paper for the rind on the front.
I used some black polka dot paper to put on my seeds. Then I glued the beadboard, seeds and rind all together.
I knew I wanted to tie some ribbon around this somewhere, and when I went to get ribbon out, this giant ric rac was calling my name! I also added the smaller black ric rac as well. I love the fun look the ric rac gives the watermelon to finish it off.
I love how this turned out and I'm excited to have it up in my house! My little boys are loving it too. :)
Have you started decorating for summer yet, or are you still enjoying spring? I'm still enjoying spring, and I haven't taken my spring stuff down yet, but I'm sure glad to have started on the summer decor already. :)
