I went over to one of my favorites stores AGAIN, The Wood Connection, and I found the parts to make this little decoration for my home. I was so excited to make it!
I started by taking the bead board out of the frame and staining it. Then I painted my frame, pumpkin, and leaves. Then I got my stained bead board and did a really light coat of cream colored paint, over the top of it. Drilled holes in the leaves and bead board and wired it together. Then I drilled the holes for the top to attach the hanger with the ribbon. I also distressed the edges, but just a bit.
Then I added the vinyl “Give Thanks”. I was excited how it turned out, but the more I look at it all, I’m not so sure I like the yellow frame. What do you think? I wish I could just paint it, but I already put the vinyl on, and the ribbon was hard to get thru the holes, so I’m not sure I want to take it out. I could paint the frame with a darker color, and then peel the vinyl, and the words would be yellow. I’m just not sure what to do! 🙂
I love this metal hanger thing, that you just attach with ribbon. I can’t wait to find more uses for these kind of things! 🙂
If you live in Utah and like to do crafts, and you have never been to The Wood Connection, you are missing out! It’s such a fun store!
