One of my very favorite ways to decorate is with banners! They are so quick and easy to make, can be big or small, and make a big statement! Today, as part of the Summer Fun Series over at Girl Loves Glam, I’m sharing this fun and colorful Summer Banner with you.
I started with some blank wood banner pieces. I knew I wanted this to be bright and colorful, but I had a hard time finding paper that was bright enough for me. I finally checked in my stash of paper, and guess what?! I had the perfect paper. 🙂 I should have looked there to begin with. I traced the wood pieces and then glued my paper on.
Once all the paper was glued down and dry, using my Cricut and Cricut Craft Room, I cut out the white bracket shapes and the letters with coordinating cardstock. I used pop up squares to mount both the shape and letter on the banner shape.
I used some bakers twine to tie the banner all together. At this point I thought I was finished, but then thought more about it and decided to add ribbon to the bottom of the banner shapes. It is the perfect finishing touch!
I simply love the way this turned out and I’m excited to have it hanging up in my living room for the Summer time!
What is your favorite decor item that you have for the Summer?
