You guys! I actually sat down and created something just for me! Between being so sick with this pregnancy, and having other commitments, it seems like it’s been quite some time since I’ve created something just for me. It was so fun! This Pumpkin Patch Slat Sign is what I came up with, and I’m pretty excited about the way it turned out!

I started out with these supplies:
- Horizontal Slat Sign
- Patch Vinyl
- Paint in your choice of color
- Foam Brush
- Sandpaper
- Cricut Explore Machine to cut Pumpkin & Arrow Vinyl
- Vinyl Squeegee
For this project, because I already had the “patch” vinyl, I decided I would do the reverse stencil technique. I started by painting my slat board orange.
Once the paint was dry, I put my Pumpkin and Arrow vinyl on. I cut this vinyl using my Cricut Explore, leaving a space big enough for the word Patch to fit in between.
Then I put the patch vinyl on.
To give the edges of the vinyl a good seal, I painted over them with the orange paint.
Once that paint dried, I started painting over the entire board with light ivory. Because of the orange color underneath, it took a few coats of the light ivory to get good coverage.
Once I had enough light ivory on the wood, I peeled up the vinyl.
Then I got my sandpaper and distressed the sign.
I liked the idea of the orange showing through in a few places.
And that is how I mad this sign! It was a fun one.
I can’t wait to find the perfect place to put this in our home!
It goes perfectly with my wood block pumpkins that I put together a few years ago! They are some of my favorites.
