Is anyone else getting really excited for Halloween? I know I am. Although, I haven’t gotten all of my decorations out yet, I am getting excited. This year I even made a few new decorations. A couple of months ago, I helped with my sister-in-laws baby shower, and I used some Heidi Swapp marquee letters that I had picked up at Michael’s to spell the word BOY. I was out shopping at Michael’s again one day, and saw the letters, and I thought, if I buy one more O, then I can do BOO for Halloween. SO, that was it! The letters were on sale, so I grabbed an O, and came home and got to work. Let me show you how I put together these Marquee BOO Letters.
Being on the Design Team for the Pebbles Blog, they’ve sent me the new BOO! collection. I pulled out a few pieces of that paper, along with my marquee letters, black spray paint, my pencil and scissors.
I traced the letter stencils that are included with the marquee letters, onto the paper.
Then I cut them out, making sure that they fit right, and didn’t need trimming anywhere.
I took my marquee letters outside and I spray painted them black.
Once they were dry, I brought them back in the house. I was so excited at this point when I set the paper back on top of the letters. Changing the letters from white to black, made a huge difference!
I got out my X-acto knife, placed the template on top of my patterned paper, and then cut an X in each hole.
Then I placed my patterned paper in the letters.
I pushed the bulbs through each X that I had marked.
I strung the lights into the back, added the batteries, and turned the lights on. Aren’t they so fun?!
These go perfectly with the fun little banner that I put together too.
What word would you spell with the marquee letters?
