Cool Treats Cards

Does anyone else feel like Summer is slightly edging toward an end? Maybe it’s because I’m a blogger, or maybe it’s because it has already started getting darker a little bit earlier. I have mixed feelings about Fall coming. Fall is my very favorite season, but I’m just not ready for Summer to end yet! We haven’t done much in the way of enjoying the summer yet (not having a car for 3 1/2 weeks will do that to you…but I have it back now!) but I’m still hoping we get the chance to. Next week we do get the chance to go to Lagoon, our local-ish amusement park. My husbands new job is having their employee summer party there. We are so excited to go! Anyway, since I haven’t gotten out of the house much to enjoy the summer I sat down inside my house (which was nice and cool, thank you AC) to create these fun Cool Treats Cards. This stamp set has to be one of my favorites! It’s so cute and fun, plus it has framelits to match!!

To make the Cool Treats Cards:

I started by using my paper trimmer to cut one of the sheets of Kraft colored cardstock in half, length wise. This created my card base. Then I folded them in half.

On a piece of white cardstock, stamp several of the popsicle and ice cream images.

Cut each of the stamped images apart.

Once all of the images are cut apart, you can use the Framelits to die cut them on your Cuttlebug. One thing that I found that I really liked about this stamp and framelits set is that the stamped images are larger than the framelits, so even if you don’t get the framelit lined up straight, as long as it’s close, it still cuts the stamped image.

I cut out all of my stamped images. Don’t they look so cute?! Wouldn’t it be fun to string them together for a mini banner?

I cut out the other papers that I wanted to use on the card, as well as stamped the sayings that I wanted to use. Then I grabbed a sponge dauber and I inked the edges of the all the card parts for this card.

Once everything was inked, I put it all together.

I used dimensional adhesive for the saying and the popsicles and ice cream. I thought that was a fun added touch to the card.

For the Happiest Birthday Card, I cut out the paper I wanted to use on the card, stamped the saying, and then I inked the edges of most of the pieces for this card as well.

Then I put it together.

I used dimensional adhesive on this card as well.

Cards are such a fun thing to make. They come together so quickly, they are always great to have on hand, and the always seem to turn out so cute!

Really cute cards, come together so well with all extra tools for embellishments right tools, stamps, etc. I used to use all my rubber stamps and had lots of them from rubber stamping hey-day when we lived in MT and KY. Had many of the extra embellishment tools, etc.
Still have it all but is stored out of my craft room since hadn’t been using. My craft room is small so had to make room for other crafting interests.
Your cards are adorable, had forgotten what can be done with correct tools and time. Our grandkids complained about receiving store bought cards instead of hand made cards so better get back to making them again. Always enjoyed making the cards.
Keep up the good work of making those wonderful cards.
