It’s no secret that I’ve been having fun creating throw pillows for different holidays and seasons. I love them. They are something simple that I can make, pretty inexpensively, and they can add so much to holiday decor! Even with all of the other pillows that I’ve made, I think this Vintage Santa Claus Christmas Pillow is my very favorite! You may have even seen a peek at it when I shared my Front Porch Christmas Banner a couple of weeks ago. Today I’m going to share with you how I made it.

This post contains affiliate links. Cricut provided me with the Cricut Maker machine and the Cricut EasyPress.
All ideas and opinions are my own.

Vintage Santa Claus Christmas Pillow Supplies:

  • Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore Air 2
  • Cricut EasyPress
  • Red Flocked Iron-on
  • Weeding Tools
  • White Pillow Cover (you can find the insert here)

To start, I found a vintage Santa image online, that I wanted to use. This one that I found was on a site with free images. I uploaded it to Cricut Design Space, and then cut it out of my flocked iron-on using my Cricut Maker machine. If you are using the Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut flocked, I would suggest using the custom setting, select Glitter Iron-on, and then change the pressure to less. Once your image is cut, weed it.

Then get your easy press ready to use. I set the temperature and timer for the same as if I were cutting glitter iron-on.

I placed my Santa on the pillow where I wanted it and then I covered it with a light towel. Then I applied the heat with the easy press. Once I was finished on the front, I did it on the back.

Then I peeled up the carrier sheet. Gah! Isn’t it so pretty?!

I actually made this a couple of months ago, and I’ve been so excited to decorate for Christmas ever since, but today is the day that I am actually pulling out the Christmas decorations and getting it all put up!

It’s such a jolly pillow, right? I also love the flocked iron-on on it. It’s slightly fuzzy, and it’s the perfect medium for Christmas time.

I like to have two or three for each season or holiday that I switch out on the couch in my living room. My family and friends always enjoy them!
