I’ve been wanting to find a cute decoration for my front door for Valentine’s day, and when I went looking, I found this unfinished heart here. I was picturing using pink paint, and maybe some brown. Once I got started, I just wasn’t liking the direction it was going. I painted the back heart pink first, and then I changed my mind, so I repainted it red.
I distressed the edges, and added the wire to hang it from.
I tried my first attempt at glazing on the bead board center heart. I just used the little bottle of glaze that I found by the paints at JoAnn’s. It worked, but I think I want to play with it some more. I added some ribbon with a knot, and that was it.
I think it works great for dressing up my front door for the holiday.
What do you have on your front door for Valentine’s?

Love the slanted beadboard! I am featuring this at somedaycrafts.blogspot.com. Grab my “featured” button.
cutness….I love it! I’ll have to send you a pic of what I did to my door!
It turned out perfect. I bought one last week at WC too… I need to get painting… thanks for the inspiration!
I love your site and bookmarked it. I am not an “expert” in any sense of the word, but I did enough jewelry as a hobby that I decided to share some pieces with everyone that may be interested. My new website is at http://www.rockhoundgemstones.com A lot of my pieces are made with beaded gemstones, but many are made from the rough. My husband & I go rockhounding to gather the rocks/gems that we use in our jewelry. It is so interesting and it is just unbeliveable how many beautiful stones that Mother Nature has given us to enjoy. We are in our 60’s and are still very active in rock hunting and making jewelry. I hope some of you will go to my site and browse through the products and leave a message on my blog page. I am still learning more everyday, so leave suggestions and ideas to help. Hope to hear from you soon!
