The other day, I was at one of my favorite stores, The Wood Connection, and they had the cutest Menu frames. They had some finished that you could buy, or you could just buy the stuff to make your own. I picked up the unfinished items, and was so excited to get home and work on it.
I found some green paint that matches a few other things in my kitchen and painted the frame that color. After the paint dried, I sanded the edges of the frame and then used some black ink to distress the edges a little bit. I used chipboard to make the backing behind the glass, and covered it with some burlap. This is the first time I’ve ever used burlap, and I’m still not sure how much I like it. Then I used my Cricut to cut the vinyl and stuck it on. I ended up having to use some mod podge to seal the vinyl on, it didn’t seem to want to stick quite like I wanted it to.
And now every week, I can just use a dry erase marker to write down the menu for the week. I’m excited to have it up on the wall, but I know if I don’t completely stick to it, my boys are going to let me know! 🙂
This wood design is copyright of The Wood Connection. I purchased this item unfinished. If you would like to purchase your own, head to The Wood Connection! They have very reasonable prices.
