You probably know that I’m a contestant over at Every Creative Endeavor for the Creative Bloggers Got Talent contest. {Head on over and vote for your three favorites!} Anyway, last week I was working on this little sign to use for my project. I got it all the planks put together and distressed just right, but I didn’t get the words stenciled on until Saturday, the day my project was due. I knew what I wanted it to say, and I was planning on using white paint to stencil the words. At the last minute I decided to go with a more creamy colored paint, that would match in the bathroom better. Well, I got it stenciled on, everything was going fine, and then I started distressing…that is where things started going downhill. To get the look of the words that I was going for, I ended up taking too much of the blue off, and the words nearly disappeared. I am still hoping to fix this and make it useable, even if I have to pretty much start over.
See, you can’t hardy see the words. 🙁
Here you can see some of the distressing.
So, I’m thinking, I want to try to do the words in white, or dark brown, both colors would match what I’m going for in the bathroom. What color would you use for the words?
So, have you had any craft fails lately?
{Since this project didn’t work out for my CBGT submission, I was thankful I had finished another project earlier in the week, that I used for the contest.}
