The other day, I was making a birthday card for my nephew {I’ll share that with you tomorrow}, and while working on it I came up with an idea for this graduation card. My goal was to create a card with money on it, and have the money look like a rolled up diploma. I used a $1 bill for this because that is all I had in my wallet, and this is just for an idea, I don’t know anyone who is graduating this year. But I think it would be fun to put a $20 on the front of the card. 🙂
For the money, I simply rolled it up as tight at I could get it, and then put a coordinating piece of washi tape around it to hold it into place. The washi tape comes off of the money very easily, although you do need to be cautious when removing it. Then I tied a piece of twine in a bow around it. I used scotch tape to stick it to the card, so it would also be easy to remove.
I found a couple of fun graduation stamps in my stash {that I’ve never used until now} that I thought I would used to add to the card.
Using my Cricut and the Makin’ the Grade cartridge I cut out the numbers for 2012.
I think this would be a fun card to give to a graduate and a different way to give them money.
While I was working on this card, it hit me, like a ton of bricks, that I’ve been out of high school for 13 years now! Yikes, I’m getting old! 🙂
