It’s Scrapbook Thursday, and I finally have another page to share! I was doing so good at the beginning of this year to scrapbook every Thursday, and then life happened, and sometimes we just don’t get to do the things that we want to. 🙂 I’m just grateful to get to be creative when I do!
Recently when I’ve been working on layouts, I get them done, and they seem SO flat to me. I’m not sure why this bothers me, but I feel like they need some dimension to them. They just go in page protectors and anything that isn’t flat gets smashed anyway. With pages that I see on pinterest or other places around the www, it just seems like they need dimension. I’m always happy with the way the pages turn out though, even if they are flat. Does anyone else feel like this about their layouts?
This is a two page layout of pictures from the day we packed up and moved from Arizona back to Utah. My boys had fun playing on the empty book shelf, and my brother pushed them around on the hand truck for some fun as well.
I’m so glad I took pictures of the pile of boxes and the trailer when it was almost filled. Also, the entire 3+ years that we lived in Arizona, we always wanted to get a family picture by a Saguaro cactus, and we finally did, when we were headed out of town the day we moved.
All of the patterned paper on this layout is from My Mind’s Eye. I inked all the edges on the papers, used punches on some, and added these fun star buttons for the dimension on the pages.
I also put some foam squares under the “FUN” part of the title for dimension.
For the title I used the Printing Press and Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridges to cut them out.
I’m always glad to get more layouts done and in my books, but I was really glad to get this layout done without even crying. I got these pictures out a few weeks back to try to work on them and I just started crying because I miss AZ. I put them back away and got them out last week again, and it went much better the second time around. 🙂
I hope you all get the chance to work on a scrapbook layout today, or be creative in some other way that you enjoy!
