I have a confession. I have THE HARDEST TIME keeping up with homework during the school year. My kids don’t get home from school until about 4 o’clock in the afternoon, and if there is homework, chores, errands, etc. to be done, it’s almost impossible to fit it all in before bed time. And a lot of times, sadly, it’s homework that falls through the cracks. I’m bad I know! This year, I have a goal to be so much better about it. My boys start school on Monday, and I am ready to encourage getting the homework done and keep on top of all other school papers, better than ever before! I think using these few tips for getting organized for back to school are really going to help.
The other day while I was at Target, I found these fun little caddy’s in the $1 spot. I was so excited! I knew right then what I was going to do with them. I thought if each of my boys had their very own stash of school supplies, then they would be able to keep track of them better. So I put pencils, glue sticks, glue, scissors and crayons in their caddy’s.
Doesn’t it make everything more fun when it’s personalized?! I used my Cricut and cut my boys names out of vinyl and stuck them on. They are all so excited to have their own little supply buckets!
For my almost 3 year old that isn’t in school yet, I found this bucket {also in the $1 spot at Target} and thought it would make a great crayon bucket, since he isn’t in need of the other items yet.
I also found these trays at Target and picked out four different ones. The first thing I thought of when I saw these, was that when my boys come home from school, they can get their papers out of their backpacks and put them in their trays for me to go through. I realize my 3 year won’t have papers from school, but he can put his coloring pages in his.
I love that the inside of these trays are bright and colorful as well.
Last but not least, I found these files and labeled them. I’ve never had a good system in place for keeping track of my boys papers that they would like to keep. I always tell them if they want to keep them, then they need to find a place to put them. They seem to always end up on the floor getting kicked around until I put them in the garbage. I’m really hoping that these files help with controlling the papers!
So what kinds of things do you do to help stay organized for school? I’d love any other suggestions!
These are products that I like and thought were fun. This is not a sponsored post and I am in no way affiliated with Target. 🙂
