How do you decorate during August and September? In the past, I think I’ve left Summer decor up until September, and then I pull out the Fall decorations, then in October the Halloween decor, and in November I put some of the Fall decor back up with my Thanksgiving decor. This year, I was feeling like I needed to get my Summer decorations put away, but felt like it was too early to pull out the fall stuff. SO, I decided to decorate for Back to School! 🙂 I made this super simple banner to hang up, and then used some decorations that are for my sister in laws vintage wedding, to pull it all together. I ♥ the way it all turned out! And it was fast and simple, you can’t beat that.

Using some red cardstock, I cut my letters out with my Cricut Expression and the Plantin School Book cartridge.
With the Birthday Bash cartridge, I found a banner piece that I thought would work well, and cut those out of this fun paper. Doesn’t it take you back to grade school? Or at least helping with your kids homework. 🙂
Using the foam dimension squares, I mounted the letters onto the banner shapes.
This ribbon is my favorite, and it was discontinued. 🙁 Thank goodness I have a good friend who told me they were discontinuing it, and I was able to stock up, so I still have some. I just strung the ribbon through the holes on the banner shapes.
And I was done!
I hung it up and got out the cute decorations for the wedding and was done. (Is that not the cutest little Chalkboard that you’ve ever seen?!)
So tell me, how do you decorate for this time of year? Do you go straight from Summer to Fall decor, or do you decorate for Back to School, Football, or something else?
