For my birthday, back in January, my husband planned an awesome Girls Crafty Weekend. It was fabulous. Everyone that was invited was asked to come up with a craft project for the group to do. Well, I must have been so excited to do it all, (or maybe it was just because I stayed up til 4 am the night before chatting with the girls) that I couldn’t think straight, and my crafts just weren’t turning out well. One of the projects were these blocks. Most everyone there, painted their blocks, adhered paper to them and then spelled LOVE on them. I painted mine brown and cut LOVE with light pink vinyl to go on them, and when I was actually awake (after the weekend was over), I just didn’t like the blocks at all. SO, I decided that I would repaint them black and go from there. I thought the easiest way to do this would be spray paint, BUT in Utah, during the winter, spray painting seems to be a complicated task, when I don’t have an enclosed place to do it. So I had to wait for a warmer day, just so I could paint these. Well, I FINALLY got them painted!
So I headed to Robert’s to get me some of this cute hot pink vinyl. I had gone back and forth on whether to use patterned paper as well, but decided to just stick with the vinyl and painted blocks.
I tied this cute Stampin’ up ribbon around the block to add a little extra something to it.
AND, I’m totally LOVIN’ the way they turned out this time around. SO, my suggestion is never craft when you haven’t had enough sleep, lol. Or maybe it was just me, cause no one else seemed to have the problem of their crafts not turning out that day. 🙂
What are your favorite colors to decorate with for Valentine’s? This year, mine are black, hot pink, and white. I think they change every year.
