Our family is going to Disneyland in 10 more days with our best friends. We are all so excited and talk about it all.the.time. I wanted to come up with a fun way to count down our vacation as well as give the kids an opportunity to earn some spending cash. Here is what I came up with.
I used my make the cut program to fit the Mickey faces on the page the way I wanted, then I cut it out. Unfortunately cricut is no longer compatible with Make the Cut and I am sick about all the money I put into the program. It worked for this project and now it won’t work. grrr….anyway, moving on. I cut a piece of poster board down and laid the black cardstock on top and then numbered the days left for Disneyland.

Each gift has 3 of the same thing. We open one gift a day starting with my youngest. I have three kids so they will all get to open 5 gifts each. The first present I had them open were these plastic bags for them to use as grooming kits in their suitcase. All of the other gifts are things to go in the bag like, travel size tooth brushes, soap, toothpaste, a white board to play with in the car, autograph book, flip flops for the beach etc…all practical stuff for them to bring along but in a way that is fun for them to get too.
I am so excited to go and now every time my little girl asks how many more days til we go I can send her to the fridge to count. 🙂

You are simply fabulous with coming up with things to motivate your kids. I think this would motivate me! I love that you did different colors of Mickey’s, that you have Mickey Money, that’s way more fun than real money, and what fun that your kids get to open something everyday! As long as our kids don’t compare notes about what we all did before we got there, we should be ok. lol Everytime my kids find any coins, I ask them if they want to put it in the Disneyland jar. That’s the extent of our festivities leading up to the trip. 🙂 lol
You are amazing! You make me want to have another family all over again just so I can do such fun things! Have fun on your trip and be safe!!!!
Very Creative!!!
So much fun – our trip to Disney World was the best ever. I love your countdown idea – I’m going to use that when we go to the beach this summer.
