My husband and I have been married for almost 10 years. I can hardly believe it! Anyway, we got this spice rack for our wedding. Before we got married, I thought these things were the coolest. Like I really wanted one and couldn’t wait to have the spices sitting out on my counter top in a cute display like this. Well, after almost 10 years, my husband and I looked at this spice rack, and realized that we still had some sealed spices on here. Yikes! There were spices that we’d never used in it. Some we’d never even heard of. SO we decided that we would empty out all the old spices, and make this spice rack functional for us!I took all the old labels off and my husband dumped the spices in the garbage. Then we made a list of the spices that we wanted in the rack, and I printed out a list. Then I used my circle punch, it was the PERFECT size of the lids. I picked out paper that matches a cute rolling pin that Debbie gave to me as a gift, and it also matches the counter tops. Then I got out the trusty ol’ Mod Podge. I put the punched circle paper on and then the name of the spice on. I was so glad that the Mod Podge works like a sealer, so if I get something on my spice jars I can just wipe it off really easy.
And, I am happy to report that our {cute} spice rack is now being used, and the jars are filled with the spices that are the most used in our home. And it makes me happy to look at it too!
Do you have spices in your home that you’ve never used?

Sweet! Looks much better…and yes, there’s spices in there I don’t use – someone gave us a spice rack full of spices and I kinda prefer to buy them separately…
Your spice rack looks great!
Great looking spice rack!
We received a similar spice rack on our wedding… And now, 8.5 years later, half of the jars are still sealed and a fourth of them are empty.
This gives me an idea!
Thank you!
too cute

HI there, I’m a new follower. Thanks for such a great idea. My spice rack is teeny – so a bit of refilling with things I actually use would be great 🙂
