Today is the last day of school for my kids. I’m excited to have them home for summer break, but it also means that I probably won’t get to create as much as I’d like to. I have a schedule in my head that would leave plenty of time for creating, but we’ll see how it goes. The other day, I was telling my oldest son that this summer, I want to try to be on a schedule, and one of my goals was to get dressed every day. I said “You know how you get home from school sometimes, and mom is still in her pajamas?!” (I can’t believe I’m sharing this with you all!) And he replied with “and Isaac is too?” I said “ya, I don’t want to stay in pajamas all day this summer, so one of mom’s goals is for all of us to get dressed every day!” I figure if we can get breakfast, dressed, learning activities and chores all done by lunch time, then I can craft in the afternoons. I think I’m dreaming tho, LOL!
Anyway, do you remember a while back when I showed you this sneak peek?! Well, I actually finished this pillow that same night, all but the buttons. Then a few weeks ago, I got the buttons put on, and I finally got around to taking pictures of it, lol.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this pillow turned out. I just think it is SO bright and happy. For the quilt guild I joined, we are having a pillow swap this month, and I’m not so sure that I’m going to want to swap my pillow. I have the supplies, and I think I just might make another one. 🙂 We’ll see.
Although the quilting detail is NO WHERE close to perfect, I like it. It’s the very first time I’ve done quilting like this, and looking at it makes me happy.
This is the back. I added the buttons because the envelope closure didn’t want to sit flat very well, but also, because I LOVE these big buttons! And the quilting on the back, I was tired, and having fun, and trying to figure out how to do this kind of quilting all at the same time, so it does leave a little to be desired, but I still like it.
And just to add a little fun, I put this strip in, that matches the front. I like the back of the pillow almost as much as the front! 🙂
I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the finished product!
