While I LOVE a fun embellished page, that is not what scrapbooking is all about. It’s about getting the story written down. I consider it to be creating a history, in a more creative way that just typing it out on the computer, or writing it in a journal. I feel like sometimes when I am working on a page, I need to get back to the basics, and remind myself of why I really scrapbook. That doesn’t mean that I don’t like to embellish pages, I think that part is fun too, but not the main focus.
Last week I was able to get a few different scrapbook pages done. I was excited!! I’d have to say that scrapbooking would have to be my favorite crafty thing to do. Although, I don’t seem to get to do it as often as I’d like, I guess it’s a priority thing. 🙂 I can’t wait to show you the pages that I’ve finished.
This is one of those scrapbook page layouts that I was very glad to get done! I’ve had the pictures, and the stitches sitting in my scrap cupboard for a while, and finally got them put in the book. My son hit his head on a bucket of joint compound for the walls. He hit the top edge/corner of the lid. I’m still amazed that it did this to his head!
I used my Boys Will Be Boys Cricut Cartridge to cut the title. It has a fun font on it that has these arrows!
I added some brads to the bottom of the page, it seemed to be missing something, and this is just what the page needed.
For the stitches, I decided to put them into a bottle cap with some paper behind them. I then put a thick layer of Mod Podge on it and let it dry. I really like how it turned out, I just wish I would have thought to blow on the little bubbles with a straw to get them to pop before it dried. It was a first time experience, so I’ll know what to do better if I do that again. 🙂
I kept the journaling simple, and just wrote on the pictures.
With 4 little boys, we’ve made our fair share of trips to the ER or Instacare locations, and we could about have a full scrapbook of all these fun adventures. The worst part about it all, is that I think my 21 month old has his older brothers beat with the most trips to the ER/Instacare. 🙂 He’s a busy boy!
What is the most random thing that one of your kids have been hurt on and resulted in getting stitches? At our house we’ve had stitches from a pineapple can, a heavy door shutting on a finger, and slipping in the bath, just to name a few.
I hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday!
