It has been a while since I have been able to craft and boy have I missed it.
To say I love Halloween would be an under statement. I love the cute decor, coming up with fun costumes for the kiddos and of course my annual multi family Halloween party.
Well, Friday night my hubby went on a camp out with our church and I decided I was long over due for some me time. I had meant to have him cut me some wood before he left but never got a pattern drawn for him. I was disappointed, but determined.
I went out to my scrap wood pile and found this old drawer front
Have you seen all the cute little owl’s out there in blog land? I decided I wanted to make an owl to go with my decor. After I painted the wood black I got out some paper and went to town. 
Each layer of paper is scalloped and rolled up slightly for a 3-D effect. The eyes have pop-up on them as well.
Sat. morning I made some cute candy jars to go with it.
Now all I need is a cute Halloween table runner to put everything on.
It felt really good to finally create something for myself again. I hope to be better at finding some more me time.

Your owl is adorable!! With Halloween everything everwhere, it makes me think of you!! I’ve seen a lot of those candy jars like yours, but your are my favorite! Love that you did orange and black and the heights of them are perfect! Yeah for getting some crafting time for you in! 🙂
