So this is a little random, but last night my husband and I were talking, and we got talking about holidays. We came to the conclusion that there are a few holidays that are just a little weird. I haven’t looked into them, so don’t get offended, but think about this. St. Patrick’s Day. We wear green so others don’t pinch us? Leprechauns apparently sneak into our homes at night and turn things green? It’s fun for kids, and I don’t mind it so much, but if you really think about that, isn’t it just a little strange? The other one that seems a little strange is Easter. How did it get to the point that a BUNNY delivers EGGS full of CANDY? Again, it’s fun for kids, we celebrate these holidays at our house, but when you really think about them, they are kinda weird. Are their any holidays that you think are weird? Anyway….on the the page.
The pictures on this page are of my dad when he was young. In our church, when young men are 19 years old, they can serve missions. My dad did back when he was that age, and these are a few of the picture that our family has from that time.
It’s a pretty basic layout. I feel so lucky to have these pictures of my dad. I may add a journaling block or something hidden behind a picture later, but right now I don’t have all the information that I want to journal about.
I inked all the edges, and used my Cricut and Doodletype cartridge to cut out the letters.
I knew I wanted to add something to the bottom of the page, and I tried a couple of different things. I finally decided on these buttons and I like how it turned out. You’d think with 4 little boys I’d be able to embellish with boyish embellishments by now, but I still have a hard time some times. 🙂
Over all I’m so happy with how this page turned out. Tho I am wishing that I would have done two layers to create a shadow for the lettering, especially the Called to Serve, so you could see it better. Oh well. 🙂
