Last year I picked up this cute Kite {unfinished} from The Wood Connection. I finally got around to finishing it this year, and ended up using it for my project for Creative Bloggers Got Talent when my Beachy Bathroom Sign was a fail. Unfortunately, I was eliminated from the contest and didn’t make it into the finals. Oh well, now I don’t have to worry about what project to come up with for the next round. 🙂 It was fun while it lasted tho.
I had so much fun making this kite so bright and colorful. I started by painting the back green, and the beadboard white. Then I used some of Echo Parks new lines of Homefront and Soda Fountaion Dots & Stripes and put it on the strips of bead board.
I used my brown ink to distress the edges of the bead board and the base.
For the kite string I added this silver wire. I originally had it white {I spray painted some green wire that I had, and the paint was coming off} but then changed it to silver. The white did show up better but I couldn’t find white wire to buy. I added the colored ribbon just to add a little something extra to the string.
This cute kite is hanging on my front door, and I LOVE it!! What do you have on your front door for spring?
