Do you ever start one of those projects that you think will take 30 minutes to finish, and it ends up taking a whole lot longer? That is how this project went for me! I picked up these cute frames and planned on coming home and taking a few minutes to spray paint them. Little did I know, spray paint doesn’t stick on MDF frames, even if they are primed good. I spent two hours spray priming, sanding, and trying to spray paint these. I finally decided that it would work better to use acrylic paint, so I got out my sander and sanded down all of the spray paint and started painting again.
I was hoping to get these finished quickly so I could get them in the mail. I was sending a package to Debbie, and wanted to give these to her. A few years back, her and I both bought some little magnetic frames at the Mesa Scrapbook Convention. We only bought three each, and I now have four kids and she will be having her fourth in a couple of months, so we both needed new frames to put our kids pictures in on the fridge. So when I saw these, I thought they would be perfect for that.
After I finally got these cute things painted, I distressed them just a tad with some sandpaper.
They are perfect for a wallet sized picture. {I was actually going to make a 5×7 one of these for mothers day for my mom and mil, but because the frames are so chunky, I didn’t end up doing that.}
I couldn’t resist wrapping these things up in cute packaging. I just used some brown wrapping paper, and tied twine around them.
I think it added some fun detail to the whole package, and I hope that Debbie is enjoying them! Now I can’t wait to finish the ones I got for my refrigerator! I got them all painted, I just had to pick up some more magnets so I can hang them.

Love them! Want some…where’d you get them? Let me guess…The Wood Connection? 🙂
The frames are so cute! What a great way to display pictures on the fridge! 🙂
I hate it when it takes a ton longer than you expect, that happened to me yesterday. Those frames are so cute, love the colors!
You always seem to choose the best colors for everything!
Oh my goodness. I LOVE my frames. They are adorable and I even put a cute little ultra sound photo in the babies frame. I smile and think of you everytime I open the fridge now. Sorry they were such a pain to work with, but I am glad you did it. The wrapping alone was just so cute. I LOVED the entire package. You are the best!
Love the colours you picked!
Love these! Wish I had 10 of ’em 😉
Visiting from Somewhat Simnple and new follower!
These are darling! The whole presentation is just lovely. Who doesn’t love a brown paper package tied up with string?
Those frames are so cute, and what a great idea to stick some magnets on them!!! Right now we just have plain ol’ circle magnets holding our pictures on the fridge, but this would be way better. And the coordinating twine was a super cute touch 🙂 I have a brand new link party going on right now and I’d be thrilled if you’d share this over there so everyone else can see how cute they are too!
