I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve really been looking forward to Summer time this year. It’s always a hard adjustment when the kids get out of school, and all the kids have to figure out how to get along with each other all day at home for a few months. It’s also such a fun time to play together and spend time outside as a family.
I was so excited to get this project done! It is so bright and cheery. Once I got all the paper put on, it took me a while to get all the edges of each letter and shape sanded down, so the paper was just right, but it was worth it.
On the “U” I added paper to the bead board, and did the seeds just like I did them on my other slice of watermelon. I love what the striped paper added to the watermelon.
I love the bright pops of color when you see these from a side angle. It’s so fun!
I used a few different ribbons, but I kept the embellishing pretty simple this time, just ribbon. I used some Stampin’ Up ribbon {the striped, which they don’t sell anymore:(}, and the rest of the ribbon came from The Wood Connection.
And here it is on my sofa table in my living room. {It’s hard to take a picture in front of a window like this!} I took down my Summer blocks from last year, put my new SUMMER letters with my Paper Pinwheels, and I’m calling it good for now. 🙂 Have you decorated for summer yet, or are you still taking in all that spring has to offer?
