Do you remember a few months back when I shared my monogram letter C with you? Well, a month or so ago, my sister in law saw it and said that she would like a hot pink and black one for her birthday that is later this month. She LOVES this color combo.
I set out to make one of these for her, but I knew that I hadn’t seen chevron paper in the colors that I needed. I ended up painting the letter with a chevron stencil that I made with my Cricut. I’ll show you how I did it.
I started with the letter.
Then I had my 3 year old help me paint it pink. After the pink dried, I lightly sanded it.
Using Cricut Craft Room, I made this chevron pattern. I used my George and Basic Shapes cartridge, and resized and rotated a rectangle and made the design. For some reason when I got down to about 14 inches tall, it wouldn’t let me make it any longer, so I had to improvise and piece the pattern together. I used vinyl to cut it out.
Then I put all of the stencil on.
The black paint went on great! After I peeled up the stencil, I lightly sanded and distressed a little bit again.
You can’t forget to embellish!
Here is a closer look of the distressing.
And embellishments.
I did this one very similar to the one I did for myself, but I have to say I do like the larger chevron pattern better.
I hope my sister in law likes it. I think it turned out great!

That is so cute….I love monogrammed anything.
cute monogram! I love the color combination! I’d love for you to share this and any other crafts at my new linky party, Submarine Sunday. I hope you’ll stop by!

Really cute, and I like how it’s not over-embellished 🙂
Love it! What a nice sister in law you are! I am sure she was thrilled to get it. I know I would be 🙂
Very cute. Love the concept.
So cute! She’ll love it I’m sure!
Okay, so my stencil skills are not the greatest… Is there special stencil sticky stuff that you purchase? I am always frustrated when paint runs underneath the stencil.
How fun! You have a lot more patience than I do!! It looks great. 🙂
