Do you have kids? Are they old enough to help with the chores around the house? I’ve got four boys and I love to have them help out around the house. A couple of years ago, I made some chore charts that seemed to work pretty well, but then I got out of the habit of using them. Well, I decided I wanted to simplify them a little bit so I condensed down to one board, and I added my fourth child to the list. He’s three years old now, and I consider that old enough to help with certain simple chores around the house. So here is my new and improved chore chart.
Every day I plan to change the day of the week, and then the chores that are put up next to the day of the week are the ones that everyone has to do, in this case it is reading and homework.
I have several chores that are not listed on the board for today and I will use them as the need arises. Since these chores are from the last charts, my boys already know what all the pictures mean, such as dishes, helping cook dinner, laundry, vacuuming, etc. I also have one that is a question mark, so that I can assign them whatever chore that I want them to do. 🙂
I used my Cricut and the Lyrical Letters cartridge to cut out “CHORES” and my boys names with vinyl. All of the chores are cut out from the chore chart cartridge (I don’t think this one is available anymore tho).
So what kinds of things do you do to help keep the chores organized at your house? When I can get it figure out how to do it, my boys will be able to earn “tokens” to be able to use to “buy” play time on the Wii, computer, etc. I hope it helps to motivate them!

I have the chore chart cartridge and have been meaning to make a chore chart for a while. Yours turned out so cute! I am hoping to update a magnetic hand me down one I got from my brother’s girlfriend. Her daughter is older so they don’t need it. But, I need more specific chores on there! Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂
So cute. I love the way it turned out.
very cute! We ususally make our chore chart on the chalk board. I also sometimes text my older girls so that there is no way they can “forget” or “misunderstand” their job! 😉
This is a fun way to make the job chart appealing to look at. We’ve done charts for years and my kids are older, but I’m thinking we might do something with this idea. Thanks.
Ths puts my 3×5 notecards on the frig to shame! But it is SUPER cute!!
Would love for you to share this at my very first linky party. My sister and I are working together over at “Think Tank Thursday”…hope to see you there!
