For Christmas, Debbie, sent our family the.sweetest.gift ever!! I knew I wanted to send her a card to let her know how much it meant to me, so I put this Many Thanks Card together for her.
On New Year’s Eve, just over four years ago, my dad passed away from colon cancer. Before Christmas this last year, Debbie got in touch with my sister and arranged to have some of my dad’s clothes mailed to her. She made these adorable teddy bears out of the clothes. If you follow me on instagram, then you may have seen this. I cried when I opened this gift. These bears are so special me and to all of my boys! They sleep with them every night. The one that really gets to me when I see him with his bear though, is my 3 year old. He never knew my dad, while he was on the earth, but I know that he knows him! He knows how special his bear is. He tucks his bear in with him every night, and one day he even came home from preschool carrying it. I had no idea that he had stuck it in his backpack, I’m just grateful that he didn’t lose it somewhere!
Every time I see one of these bears, or see my boys with them, it just melts my heart, and I am SOOO thankful and grateful for such a sweet friend for being so thoughtful and taking the time to do such meaningful thing for our family.
Although a card isn’t much, I knew I need to let Debbie know how thankful I was (she doesn’t even really enjoy sewing, so I know this was a labor of love!), so I made this card for her.
Have you ever had a special gift given to you?

What an amazing gift. Those bears are precious!
The bears are so sweet. I love the colors in the card and of course, the polka dots.
This is such a great idea to make bears with your dad’s clothes. Something to treasure for sure! Btw I’m just stopping by because I picked up your card at the BYBC on Saturday. Fun to come see your blog!

Hi Amy, I think a hand-made card like this IS a lot! I know your friend will be delighted. I saw you at BYB & I’m popping by your great blog to say “hello”. It was really nice to meet you & I hope to see you again soon.
