Since my preschooler doesn’t go to school on Thursday, he is having his Valentine party at school today. I realized this last night, and we still hadn’t started on filling out the Valentines. (I bought them weeks ago, but just put them away!) Last night we sat down as a family and everyone filled out their cards. I wanted to do a little bit more for the teachers, than just the Toy Story Valentines that my son had picked out, but I knew I didn’t have a lot of time, and last night I was tired! Before I went to bed last night, I thought to myself “if I have to, I’ll just use the Toy Story ones, and it won’t be the end of the world.” This morning when I got up, I thought “I bet I can whip some cut hearts out before he has to leave for school at 8:30.” I got out of bed and jumped on the computer and started Cricut Craft room, and before I knew it, I was writing these valentines out and gluing them together. It was so fast!! SO, you still have time if you need a quick idea! 🙂
Let me show you how I did these.
In Cricut Craft Room, using the free digital cartridge, Cricut Craft Room Basics, I chose the two different hearts, and put one on top of the other so I could get the sizes just right.
Then I cut and pasted one of them into a new layer, so I could cut them out of different paper. Once I had them all designed, I found my paper I wanted to use, and cut them out with my Cricut.
I grabbed my glue stick and stuck them together. I wrote the message, and then using removable glue dots, I put the candy hug on. These pictures aren’t too great because I had to hurry and get these in the back pack to go to school, but you get the idea, and for taking 20 minutes this morning, I think they turned out great!!
Now if I could just figure out something cheap or free to do for my husband for Valentine’s Day, I’d be set! What are you doing for Valentine’s?
