I didn’t want to miss the chance to share this fun sign for Thanksgiving. You could still whip this one out before Thanksgiving next week, or you could save it and make one next year. And, I’ve done some of the work for you.
I picked up this Large Slat Sign from The Wood Connection and I painted the face of it. I wanted to leave the edges showing the raw wood, because I think that look can be fun. You could paint them or leave them. I used the color Georgia Clay. Once I had the face of my board painted, using my Cricut, and the Chalkboard Fonts cartridge, I cut out the vinyl. If you would like the file, you can download it here. I peeled the letters out and used the reverse vinyl technique to paint the letters with Bamboo paint. At this point, you could lightly sand the board, but I left it as it was.
It seems like I’ve said this a lot lately, but this was a quick and easy project. The part that took the longest was designing the vinyl, and that’s done for you, so it will be really quick. I think this would look great on a solid board as well.
