Spring has sprung here in Utah, and I am loving it! We have been having some warm days and soaking up the sun! This week has been Spring Break for my kids, so I’ve been doing some fun things with them. We’ve been to the park a couple of times, played with cousins, went kite flying (they loved that!), and we’ve just enjoyed spending time together. My four boys are all really good friends with one another and I feel lucky that they are. Especially since they all share one bedroom. Anyway, back to this fun Spring Letter Set. A couple of weeks ago, Pick Your Plum, had these fun letter sets. They had some Easter ones, and one that says April. I picked up this Spring set and the April set. I think they are so fun! When I finished this one, I decided to go with a little bit brighter colors. I seem to be drawn to them this Spring.
I decided to finish this set with the fun Hello Summer line from a couple of years ago. It is a line put out by Echo Park Paper. It is one of my favorites. I used it on this fun Summer set a couple of years ago, and then last year, I ended up selling that set thinking I’d be able to get more of that paper, but I couldn’t get it anymore. 🙁 I finished a new Summer set with some new paper, and then last year, I got in contact with Echo Park Paper and was able to purchase more of the Hello Summer line from them. I was so excited! I’ll be using that paper to remake my Summer letter set. Anyway, you didn’t come here to hear all about my Summer letters, lol. I used scraps from the original Summer set to finish these Spring letters.
I decided that I liked the look of the natural wood (MDF) on the sides, so this was a really quick project. I just traced my paper onto the wood, cut it out, (I did try to erase the pencil lines off of the wood from tracing) and then I glued my paper down to the wood. Once I was to that point, I sanded the edges that needed sanding.
Isn’t the flower the cutest? 🙂 I goes perfectly with the fun font!
This was one of those projects that I had a lot of fun with while I made it. I think I enjoyed it so much because it went so quickly!
I love the way it turned out! Even with the brighter colors, I think it still looks very Spring-ish! What do you think?
