You guys! Summer is almost here! Are you as excited about it as I am? I love spending time outdoors with my family, in the warm summer air. One of our very favorite things to do is pull out our fire pit, roast some hot dogs, and make S’mores! Since we love to spend time outside during the summer, I thought, wouldn’t it be fun to host a S’mores Summer Get Together? So, I put one together, and I’m sharing all the fun details with you today!

When I was at Walmart doing my grocery shopping, they had this display full of all the things you need for S’mores; Hershey’s Chocolate Bars, Jet-Puffed Marshmallows and S’moreMallows, and Honey Maid Graham Squares (only at Wal-mart). I also picked up a few extra items to add to our S’mores. I grabbed some Hershey’s Heath Bars (which I crushed in my food processor) and Hershey’s Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (crushed as well) along with some Hershey’s Caramel in a jar.

Once I got home from the store, I got right to work, creating all the decor for the S’mores Summer Get Together. Using brown cardstock, close to the same color as the plastic table cloth I was using for my backdrop, I cut out several of these Hershey’s words.

I laid them all out on my tablecloth backdrop, so I could get them attached onto it. It was tricky getting this cardstock to stick to the plastic. I would recommend using spray glue, and gluing the paper to the plastic. Just make sure to do it outside or in a well ventilated area.

Next, print out these fun tags to use in your display. You can find the large S’mores Bar printable HERE, and the S’mores Table Labels HERE. Printables from The Happy Scraps are for personal use only. Aren’t these so fun that they look like a Hershey’s Bar?! Once you have these all printed out, cut the smaller labels out, and then you can mount them on cardstock tent cards, or do like I did, and use clothes pins to put them where they need to be. For the larger, S’mores Bar printable, you’ll trim the white edge off the sides and bottom, then fold the paper right at the top of the print. Once folded, you can trim off the small white strip, that is left, to make the bottom of the front and back line up with each other.

Next, we are going to make some banners for our S’mores Summer Get Together. You could easily do this by hand. I used an electronic die cutting machine to cut my triangles and letters. I cut out Kraft cardstock triangles, then cut white triangles that were slightly smaller than the others. I used my hole punch for the holes. Using a dark brown cardstock, I also cut out the letters to spell “S’mores”. You could also use stickers to do this. I adhered my letters to the white banner pieces, and then added adhesive to the top, on the back, of the white triangles. Next, I adhered the white triangle to the front of the Kraft triangle, and that was it for getting the banner pieces ready. They I used some brown and white baker’s twine to string them together.

I made some plain banner pieces as well. They look perfect with mini lanterns against the Hershey’s Bar backdrop.

Once you have everything cut out and put together, you are ready to set up the whole table. Squeel! Isn’t it fun?! My family was so excited about having S’mores! They LOVED this Summer Get Together treat!

Now you are already to get that fire going! We love our fire pit. It is a propane fire pit, so we don’t end up smelling like a campfire every time we use it. It is also completely portable, which we love. I love that we can use it anytime, it doesn’t just have to be the weekend. We pull it out at least once a week. It also makes it really easy to throw together a quick Summer Get Together and of course, top it off with yummy S’mores.

Once that fire is going, grab all the stuff that you need for making your S’mores. I love that these Graham Squares don’t have to be broken. They are made to be the right size for S’mores already!

Get roasting those marshmallows. Mmmm, don’t you just love golden brown marshmallows?! They are my favorite!

Once those marshmallows are perfectly roasted, it’s time to build your S’more. Place one Honey Maid Graham Square on the bottom, place your marshmallow on it, then your Hershey’s Chocolate Bar, drizzle it with some Caramel sauce, and then sprinkle with crushed Heath Bar. Place the second Honey Maid Graham Square on the top, and enjoy! You can add Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup crumbs to the top as well, or try it in place of the Heath Bar. Doesn’t this just look YUMMY! I’ll tell you that it really is! 🙂

I had so much fun putting this together, this summer just might turn into the Summer of S’mores!

I love creating memories like this for my family! They love it, and it’s little things like this that make memories for them to remember for a lifetime! The best part, you really don’t have to have a fire pit to make S’mores. When I was young, we used to roast marshmallows over the stove top burners, on a fork. It’s one of my favorite memories! And we would make S’mores with them too. 🙂

What is your favorite way to make and enjoy S’mores?

That is the most amazing set up I have ever seen for smores. In our neighborhood we end up doing smores in someone’s driveway all summer long! Maybe I need to spruce it up a little. Thanks for the ideas.
