This Friday marks the last day of school for my boys. They are excited to be out, and I’m excited to have them home too. I may rethink that when all the fighting starts though. I’m looking forward to not having to get them up early everyday. The last few weeks, they haven’t wanted to get out of bed, and then I end up driving them to school. I’ll be glad when that is over with. 🙂 Every year, I like to give our kids teachers something as a thank you for being a good school teacher. We’ve been lucky with the teachers that we’ve had over the last few years. They’ve all been really good. Today, I’m going to show you what we’ll be giving them this year. I think this Printable Candy Bar Poster Teacher Gift is a fun one. This is designed to be used with funsize candy.
I headed to the store and picked up a bag of each kind of candy. You might be thinking “that’s a lot of extra candy” or “that would be a lot of money”. Well, it is a lot of candy, but I’m making 15 of them. No, I don’t have 15 kids, but my son in middle school has 8 teachers, and I thought it would be fun to make these for them, and then one of my elementary school boys has his teacher, some reading aides, speech teacher, etc. So it adds up. And it cost me about $25 to get all the candy, so split that up between 15 people, and it is actually a really inexpensive gift. 🙂 I found all the candy I used at Walmart, and the Laffy Taffy at Sam’s Club.
To put these together yourself, you’ll need:
- Free Printable printed on cardstock (for personal use only)
- Fun Size Candy – Twix, Almond Joy, Smarties, Milky Way, 100 Grand, Mounds, Laffy Taffy, Snickers, & Payday
- Hot Glue Gun
Once I had all my pages printed, I started gluing the candy on. I just used my hot glue gun to do this.
For those in the center, I had to squeeze them in there kind of tightly, but it worked.
And that is it! You can have your child write “To:” & “From:” if you’d like as well. While this isn’t anything huge to give as a gift, it still lets the teacher know that you are grateful for all the have done.
You could also create your own candy bar poster, making it more personal for your child and their teacher. I think having the funsize candy bars takes the traditional candy bar poster, and makes it that much cuter!
