Autumn Banner Tutorial

Fall is here! Like not just teasing us with the weather anymore, but the calendar even says Fall is here. I’m so excited about it! Fall is my favorite. I love the crisp cool air, the changing color of the leaves, the colors used to decorate this time of year, pumpkins, apples, and wearing scarves and boots (although I wore my boots for the first time a few days ago, and my feet are still hurting!). Today I’m excited to share this Autumn Banner Tutorial with you. This post was previously shared on the Darice blog and is made using Core’dinations paper.

To start off, these are the supplies you’ll need:

  • Banner Punch Board
  • Kraft-Core Core’dinations Cardstock
  • Kraft Cardstock
  • Leaf Dies
  • Core’dinations Sand-it Gadget
  • Foam Dimensional Squares
  • Jute Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Cuttlebug
  • Cricut Explore Machine

supplies

Start off by cutting down your cardstock, close to the size you’d like your banner pieces to be. I cut mine to 5″ x 7″.

Use the Banner Punch Board to cut the peaks out of your banner pieces.

The top of the banner punch board has a place to punch your holes. This is great because it makes the holes in the same place on both sides!

Cut and punch each banner piece.

Use the Sand-it Gadget to distress the edges of each banner piece.

Next, lay out the leaf dies to cut out some leaves.

Run them through the Cuttlebug.

You should have a large pile of colorful leaves.

leaves

I set out all the leaves on each banner piece, making sure that there were no leaves the same on the same color as the banner piece.

Using my Cricut Explore, I cut out some circles out of the Kraft cardstock. I attached the leaves to the back of the circles.

I used foam adhesive squares on the back of each circle/leaves piece.

dimension-squares

I cut out the letters using my Cricut Explore as well, and used foam dimension squares to attach them as well.

I layered all the parts onto the front of the banner piece.

Last, I used the ribbon to string the banner all together.

Then I hung it up!

I think I’m starting to have more Autumn/Fall decorations than I have space for. 🙂 They are just so fun to make!

Do you have the perfect place in your home to hang this banner?

I’m working on a few other fun fall decorations, that I hope to be sharing with you soon!
