For a while now I’ve been seeing the phrase “I love us” around the blogosphere, and it’s grown on me. I like it. I don’t like it enough to hang in the living room, but to me, it seems perfect for the master bedroom. While my master bedroom is definitely a work in progress, I have figured out the bedding, I think. 😉 A little while back, my friend was selling this never been used quilt. I loved the gray and white, and I’d been wanting to go lighter with our bedding for a while, so I jumped at the chance to pick it up. Then, while shopping with my mom and sister on my birthday, I found these orange pillows, and I had to have them. That’s when I decided that I wanted to go with the gray + white color scheme along with burnt orange and navy. Plus, in our master bedroom, we have the perfect little nook that will be the baby’s bedroom for a while, and these colors work well for a nursery/baby boy’s room as well. So that is what I’m going with. I still wanted to find some navy to tie in to the bed, so I went looking for some throw pillows. I decided while shopping at Target one day that I could just use a regular pillow and pillow case. I found some king size pillow cases for $5 on clearance, and picked up a king size pillow. I originally thought I’d make something to hang above our bed that said “I love us” but when I got this pillow home and on the bed, I decided that it would be the perfect place to put “I love us”, SO a project was in order. Today I’m going to share with you how I made my I love us, master bedroom pillow. You really won’t believe how easy this project was. I think it took me longer just to iron the wrinkles out of the pillow case. 🙂

I Love Us Master Bedroom Pillow Supplies:
Place your Heat Transfer Vinyl onto the Cricut cutting mat, shiny side down. Using the Cricut Explore, cut out your letters/words. Make sure you mirror image cut these.
If needed, iron the pillow case. Place your vinyl letters/words where you’d like them on the pillow case.
Iron over them according to directions. I like to use a towel to iron over my vinyl, to help keep the vinyl from getting messed up. Once you are finished ironing, you’ll peel the plastic film off the vinyl. Then you’re finished.
I love how this creates a statement piece for our bed! Plus, the fonts I used are fun.
This project was so simple and fairly inexpensive since I was able to get clearance pillow cases. Plus, if I get tired of looking at the words, I can just turn it over. 😉
So tell me, what would you put on a master bedroom pillow for your bed? I’ve seen a few other fun ideas where the pillows have words like Mr. & Mrs., His & Hers, etc. I think they’re so fun!
One day I hope to have this room completely put together, and when that happens, you’ll be the first to know.
