I don’t know what it is about embossed paper, but I love it. I remember when I was a kid, and my mom had TONS of stamps. One Christmas I remember spending lots of time embossing some stamped cards with gold embossing powder. We didn’t have a heat gun, we used the toaster. 🙂 While I haven’t used powder embossing in a long time, I have done dry embossing on paper, and it’s a lot of fun to do as well. Today I’m sharing these Embossed Birthday Cards with you. They’re easy to make, and you really could make any kind of design you want with these.

Supplies for Embossed Birthday Cards:
- Colored Cardstock
- Embossing Folders (Polka Dot & Stars)
- Baker’s Twine
- Sand-it Gadget
- Vellum Quotes
- Banner Punch
- Prefolded Cards
- Adhesive
- Dimensional Adhesive
- Cuttlebug
Start by cutting a piece of each of your colored pieces of cardstock. Cut them small enough to fit into the embossing folders.
Place your paper inside the embossing folder.
Run it through the Cuttlebug embossing machine.
It’s so fun to open the embossing folder once it’s done.
Using the sand-it gadget, lightly distress the top of the embossed paper.
Now you are ready to cut your paper into the sizes you need. I cut a few shapes to look like gifts.
I also used the banner punch to punch out some of the embossed paper.
For the little gifts, I tied twine around them.
I trimmed the edges of some of the vellum quotes, so they would fit where I needed them to be.
Using the adhesive and dimensional adhesive, I put all the pieces together on the card.
It’s a fun and simple card!
For the banner card, I attached the banner pieces with adhesive.
Then I attached some twine to the top of the banner pieces, making the banner like look.
I added the vellum quote, and this card was done as well.
Grab your supplies and get to work. Cards are fun and quick to make!
