I have a love/hate relationship with the seasonal aisle at the store. Do you? I always find myself wandering down that aisle and I also find myself buying candy from that aisle. π A week or so ago I was wandering through the Valentine candy, and when I saw the Twix bars, I just couldn’t pass them up. Recently, these have become one of my more favorite treats. Having a bag of little ones at home doesn’t work very well when all I want to do is eat them. After eating quite a few of the, I decided I needed to do something with them. So, in an effort to not eat the whole bag, I came up with this Easy Classroom Valentine idea to use some of them up. It might be my new favorite, because foil! I just can’t get over how much I love to foil things!

Easy Classroom Valentine Supplies:
- Red, White, & Black Cardstock
- Laser Printer
- Minc Foil Machine
- Red & Gold Reactive Foil
- Paper Trimmer
- Valentine Twix Bars
- Easy Classroom Valentine Printable (for personal use only)
I collected all of my supplies and was getting ready to get started. Originally, I pulled out my white foil, but ended up not using it because I liked the red and gold better. π I printed out my printable on to the cardstock that I wanted.
I turned the Minc machine on and set the heat to 3.
After placing the printable in the transfer folder, I put the foil over the top of it, making sure to cover anywhere that the printed image is. Then I closed the transfer folder and fed it into the Minc.
Once it was out, I opened the transfer folder and peeled back the foil sheet. Peeling back that foil sheet will never get old!
After I had foiled all of the printed sheets, I used my paper trimmer to cut them apart.
Isn’t it so fun to see that shine from the foil?
Once all the cards were ready, I simply attached a mini Twix bar with a glue dot. You could also use a small dot of hot glue.
If you’re one that likes to have your kids take a valentine with a treat to school, then this Easy Classroom Valentine is just right! They really are SO easy!
My son is pretty excited about taking them and handing them out to his class. We do need to pick up another bag of Twix and make a few more…I may have eaten too many out of the bag, and we didn’t end up with enough for the whole class. π
We do have a good jump start on them though, and it will be quick to whip up a few more as well.
Which color combination of cardstock and foil is your favorite? I think I like the black with red. It’s just so fun!
