Simple Christmas Gift

Today I’m sharing with you a simple Christmas gift that would work for acquaintances or close friends or neighbors.
One of the things that I enjoy doing during the Christmas season is making treats.  I think we all do, don’t we?!  My grandmothers toffee is at the top of my favorite list.  I remember her sharing her toffee with me when I was a kid.  We never made it at home, but we always got it when we went to grandma and grandpas house.
After my husband and I got married, I thought I’d give it a try!  I got it to work!!  I was so excited!  I’ve made it for a few different years at Christmas time.  Well, after we moved to where we are living now, I tried making it and it didn’t turn out right for me, it went sugary. 🙁  I was so sad.  This year I asked my sister if she wanted to get together at her house and try and make some.  We got together last night and between the two of us, we made 7 double batches, and it didn’t go sugary at her house! (Humidity has something to do with if it goes sugary or not.)  I was so excited!
So, I bagged some up and I’m sharing the packaging with you today.

I started with my cellophane bag, I cut a piece of cute paper into a 6 inch square and folded it in half.  Then I inked all my edges.

Next I folded down the bag, and stapled the paper to the top.  I got out some cute ribbon and tied it around the paper.

Using my Cricut Expression, the free Cricut Craft Room and the Home Accents cartridge I cut out this fun label, inked the edges, stamped “Merry Christmas to you” on it and put it on under the ribbon.

I love the way the topper turned out!

This is such a fun, easy, and versatile gift.  You could leave one in your mailbox for your mailman, give it to your neighbors, people you visit teach, your husbands co-workers, and you could have some on the counter waiting so if someone stops by to give you something, and you’ll have something ready for them!

I hope you like this simple and easy Christmas gift that would work for anyone!

Can you be my neighbor? Such a cute presentation. I was going to do cookies and I think they would be great presented like this as well.

Totally cute! I brought home my little bag from the cookie exchange and hid it in my craft room so I wouldn’t have to share. It was awesome!! 🙂
