When I started thinking about decorating for Valentine’s Day this year, I decided that I wanted to lighten things up a little bit from the bright pink and black that I’ve been using the last couple of years. I decided to sell my LOVE is all you need set, and pick up this fun new set of Stacking LOVE letters. When I first saw a picture of these love letters, I honestly thought they each were about 4″ tall. I was shocked when I went into The Wood Connection and they are 8″ tall each, so when stacked they are 16″. It is a lot larger than I thought it was, but it just makes it that much cuter!
I did run into a couple of issues when I was putting this one together. I had picked out these cute papers, and I picked out paints that I thought went with them, and once I got the letters painted and the paper put on, I didn’t like it. SO, I had to go back and use some lighter paint on 3 of the letters. Just FYI, it isn’t very fun to paint the edges of wood AFTER the paper is already on…but it worked, and I’m much happier with how they turned out with the lighter paint.

This is so pretty!!! You did a great job on those letters and the ribbon just makes it all the better.
Thank you!
You picked great paper. The letters are such fancy shapes!
Isn’t the paper so fun?! I love it!
These are so pretty, and I really love the colors on the edges! Pinning, and I featured this today on my blog!
Thank you for featuring this on your blog! I really like the colors on the edges too, now that I fixed them. 🙂
I think these are just so precious! I love them! Haha isn’t that frustrating when things don’t go 100% smoothly!?
It can be SO frustrating! I’m just glad it worked out!
LOVE these…no pun intended! You come up with the cutest projects!

Amy I love these! The papers are amazingly bright and wonderful. I did have a question about how you trimmed the paper to fit the fancy shape. Did you just trace the letters and cut a bit smaller?
