Yesterday, I decided that I wanted to make a Foil Gift Tag to go on the Mother’s Day gift for my mom. Little did I know, that once I got started with the foiling, I’d want to wrap the gift up with foiled paper as well!
Here is a list of supplies that you’ll need to wrap up your gift like this. (Contains affiliate links.)
- Heidi Swapp Minc Foil Applicator
- Minc Reactive Foil
- Mom Tag (download free for personal use printable HERE)
- Cricut Explore
I started out by uploading my mom tag image into Cricut Design Space. I told it I wanted to print the tag, and I duplicated it so I had 4 tags. Then I printed it out on white cardstock. Once printed, I put my paper into the Minc Transfer Folder.
I cut some small pieces of paper to cover the registration marks. I didn’t want them to transfer onto the transfer folder, and they would have, believe me, I know. 😉
Next, I cut a couple of pieces of foil, to fit over my tags.
Then I sent it through the Minc and just like MAGIC, they came out like this! EEEEK! 🙂
I put it on my Cricut cutting mat, and put it into the Cricut.
It cut out the tags perfectly! This is the very first time that I’ve use the print then cut feature on the Cricut Explore, and I’m impressed!
Now that I have the tags done and ready to use, I decided that I wanted to wrap the gift up with some pretty foil paper! I found this fun polka dotted paper in the 5th Avenue Paper Pack, and pulled out some foil for it.
I put the foil on the paper, and ran it through the Minc.
Then I wrapped up the gift inside the polka dot paper. Doesn’t it look so pretty already?!
I wrapped some matching twine around my package and punched a hole in the top of the tag (the Crop-A-Dile is my most favorite hole punch ever!).
I attached the tag with the twine, and I’m all ready to give this fun little package to my mom. Isn’t it so pretty?!
Seriously you guys, this Heidi Swapp Minc Machine is so much fun to play with! I get giddy every single time I put paper through it, and it comes out all shiny! It is so darn fun to play with. 🙂 I can’t wait to find more things that I can foil, cause lets me honest, I want to foil everything in site!
