What kinds of fun things do you do on the weekends? I love to spend time with my family, and I always have my phone in hand, and taking pictures. I decided that I wanted to find a way to get those pictures off of my phone and display them in our home. So, I made this Play Photo Display. I originally shared this project over on the Pebbles Inc. Blog as a guest post. I used the fun Happy Day collection from Pebbles for it.

I started by collecting my supplies. I used my Rockwell BladeRunner saw to cut the word “play” out of 1/4″ MDF and made the frame out of old fence slats also using my saw and my Kreg Jig. I had the coated chicken wire & mini clothes pins on hand, and I pulled out the fun Happy Day collection for the stickers, polaroid frames, twine, and paper.
I traced the front of my word “play” onto the back of the paper I wanted to use on it.I used the pink polka dot paper, Happy Day Let’s Chat cardstock.
Next, you’ll cut out your word that you just traced.
When applying paper to wood, I like to use wood glue. I put some on the wood, spread it out evenly with a sponge brush and apply the paper. On a piece this size, you may need to do one half at a time. Use a vinyl applicator or credit card to make sure you get the paper glued down smoothly.
Next, I cut my chicken wire to size, and used a staple gun to attach it to the back of the frame.
Now you are ready to adhere the word play to the front of the frame. I used wood glue and clamps to make sure the word was on there good.
I cut apart the Happy Day Thinking of You paper so I could cut apart the fun little bunting pieces that were on it. This whole paper is so much fun!
Using the twine from the Happy Day Photo Garland Kit, I glued it to the back of the bunting pieces. I put two of these together.
Using the mini clothes pins, I hung the buntings from the chicken wire, one on top and bottom.
I embellished the photo frames by adding some stickers from the Happy Day Cardstock Stickers, Icons & Phrases sheet. Then I hung them from the chicken wire.
I added some photos to the frames that I took over the weekend. I love that I can change the photos anytime, updating them with more recent photos of my family playing on the weekends. I also love that I have these picture off of my phone and printed!
What word would you use to describe your weekends? I’d love to have your share in the comments.
