Please tell me I’m not the only one that can’t stop eating something yummy after I’ve tried it. Sometimes I taste something, and JUST.CAN’T.STOP!! It’s great for my taste buds, but not for my waist line. I made some of these cookies a few weeks ago and guess what happened? I learned that I have absolutely NO self control!! Between two days of having these things in the house, I think I ate at least two dozen, and no, I’m not exaggerating. So, since I didn’t want to eat all the cookies myself anymore, I thought I’d share the recipes so that others could eat two dozen of these Favorite Snickerdoodle Cookies too!! 🙂
FAVORITE SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 large eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 400º F. Beat 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter, shortening & eggs together in a large bowl. Add flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
Roll dough into balls, about 1 1/4 inch in size. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl. Roll balls in cinnamon and sugar mixture and place on an ungreased cookie sheet about 2″ apart.
Bake until set and slightly browned, about 9 minutes. Place on cooling rack after you pull them out of the oven to finish cooling.
Now, when you taste them, you can’t blame me when you eat two dozen, cause I’ll just tell you that I told you so! They really are that good! 🙂 I don’t share recipes often, but when I do, you know it’ll be a good one! If you want to check out the other recipes I’ve shared, you can find them here.
