A little while back, I saw this DIY Front Porch Bench on Hertoolbelt’s Facebook page and I knew I had to have one! I had been looking for a bench that I could put on our front porch, so we measure, and figured out that this bench would fit. We headed to the store and picked up the wood. Here in Utah, the wood for this project only cost us about $12. That didn’t include the screws or stain, but overall, this bench was INEXPENSIVE to make and I adore the way it turned out! I’m actually in the process of making another one to put in my bathroom. I have the perfect place for it!
I’m still debating if I want to paint it white and distress it. I’m not sure…what would you do?
Amy from Hertoolbelt wrote up the best instructions for this bench, it only took about 2 1/2 hours from start to finish to build it. Sanding it and staining took more time the next day, but I was so excited with how fast it came together!
It’s big enough that my four older boys can all sit on it (at least until they grow a little bigger) or my husband and I can sit out on it enjoying the night air. It’s the perfect size.
I was amazed at how easy it was to cut all the wood. My husband helped me assemble the bench, and I think it would have been hard to do by myself, but on the next bench we’ll probably try making some adjustments to make it easier to assemble.
Right now I love that we can sit on it, and it looks great with my Hello Door Sign, but I won’t lie, I think I’m going to love to decorate it for different holidays and seasons. Can’t you just picture some cute pillows or pumpkins on there for Fall? Speaking of Fall, I’m ready to get my Fall decor out. Have you gotten your’s out yet? When do you usually decorate for Fall?
