Happy Fall! Can you believe it’s the first day of fall? I love fall and have been so excited for it to officially arrive. It arrived with a bang in my neighborhood. It got cold enough last night that it was snowing! Yikes. I don’t want to skip right over fall to winter. Anyway, I decided that I wanted to put together a Happy Fall Treat Bag, so I did. I made a few of them then gave them to my boys when they got home from school today. They enjoyed the little cookie that was inside, but you sure could put anything in it that would fit.

Whether you're looking for a little gift for a friend, or just want to give your kids an after school snack, this Happy Fall Treat Bag will do the trick.

After I created this Happy Fall Tag Printable, I printed it out and then used my scissors to cut them out.

I got my bags ready. I already had some cookies in little zip top bags for my kids school lunches, so I just used those. I put a cookie inside the kraft paper bags.

Then I folded the top of the bag over.

I cut a strip of paper from the fall colored patterned paper and then measured to know how long I needed it to go around my bags. My bags are 4″ x 6″, but this would work with any sized bag. I cut the strip of paper to 2″ x 9.5″ for the bags I used.

Once I had the paper the size I wanted it, I folded it to fit the bag.

Then I wrapped it around the bag and used my adhesive to attach it to itself, so the band would slide on and off.

I grabbed one of my tags and punched a hole in the end of it.

Using my baker’s twine, I tied the tag to the bag.

Then I added an enamel dot to the tag.

I thought they turned out SO cute! They are super simple to put together too.

My kids were excited when they got home from school and I told them I had an after school treat for them. I don’t know if they even realized that today was the first day of fall. They probably did, but honestly, we didn’t even talk about it.

I really like the pop of color that the tags add to the other paper.

I also think that the thick baker’s twine is so fun!

And polka dots are my favorite. I really like both the polka dot and striped bags though.

If you put some of these together, who would you give them to?

Even if you don’t plan to a Happy Fall Treat Bag together, you could still use the tag to add to a favorite loaf of bread or other treat too. If you like this idea, then you might also like this Sweet Treat version I shared before.
