After buying diapers for over 10 years, we had grown out of that stage of life with our older four boys. After not having to carry a diaper bag, keep a stash in the car, or even buy diapers, it was an adjustment to do so after our fifth boy came along. One thing that I learned with our fifth boy that I didn’t learn with the first four, is that I love Huggies® Little Movers. I don’t think there could be a more appropriate name for diapers when it comes to my 21 month old. He never stops moving! 🙂 Huggies® Little Movers Diapers are designed for active babies and the best fit ever that holds the diaper in place during active play. Because we like to keep a stash of diapers and wipes in our family room, I decided I wanted to keep them organized and contained, so I came up with this Family Room Diaper Organizer.
We like to keep a stash of diapers in the family room where we can easily grab one when we are down stairs and quickly do a diaper change, but this is normally what the Huggies® Little Movers and Huggies® One & Done Wipes look like. It’s not pretty. I decided that I wanted to build a box for these diapers and wipes to go in, so it looked a little cleaner in the family room.

I love that because I’m a member of Sam’s Club, I can head there and pick up both Huggies Little Movers and Huggies One & Done Wipes while I’m there doing my other shopping, so it saves me time. Plus, right now there is a limited time instant savings on Huggies diapers, wipes and pants this holiday season. When members buy any two Huggies at Sam’s Club they get $8 in instant savings from now until November 22, and if you use Ibotta, you can get an additional $4 savings too. The price for these are already low, so it makes for a great deal when you can get them for an additional savings. Sam’s Club makes it so easy to shop there as well, if you’re already running short on time, then try out their pick up service. Order online, and pick up when you get there. They do the shopping for you!
Family Room Diaper Organizer Instructions:
If you’re like me, you probably have a specific spot to keep diapers in your home. I measured the space we keep ours and made my box to fit that. My space is 15″ x 17″. I calculated out my cuts of wood based on the finished size I needed. I used a 1″ x 6″ cut down to 4″ tall (it’s what I had on hand, you can probably purchase a board closer to the right size) and then cut my side pieces to 17″ and 13.5″. The base of my box was cut from 1/4″ MDF to be 13.5″ x 15.5″ to allow for the width of the sides.
We cut a groove in the bottom of each side board, about a quarter inch from the bottom.
I stained all the sides of the box using some gray stain.
Once the stain was dry, I nailed it together. I started at one corner, placing the box bottom in the groove, and then nailed it. Then I moved onto the next corner.
I did this until the entire box was built.
I took it inside and filled it up with my Huggies® Little Movers and Huggies® One & Done Wipes. I love that it turned out to be the perfect size for both the diapers and wipes!
And look how perfectly it fits in its space! I love that I don’t have a mess of diapers here anymore!
It’s easy to pull out, almost like a drawer, and I just have to grab a diaper and package of wipes.
Then it slides right back into place.
It’s the perfect solution to keeping the diapers under control in the family room! I’ve shared a few other ideas for using Huggies Diapers and Wipes before. If you’ve like to see those, you can check them out here.
