I don’t think it’s any secret that I love the look of farmhouse signs. I’ve loved them ever since the first time I saw them. I love the look of the frame around them and the look of the wood inside the frame, whether it’s planked or a solid piece. I think I could have one in every room of our home. I just might get there someday. I have them in four of our bedrooms now (nursery, kitchen, and master) that I have this Army of Helaman Bedroom Sign up. 🙂 I made this one as a reminder for my boys. It comes from a primary song in our church, and it’s one they love to sing, I love to hear them sing, and I hope they learn from it.

For this project, I created a sign the size I needed. I made it just like I made this one. I cut my adhesive vinyl stencil with my Cricut Explore Air 2 and used transfer tape to get it onto the sign. Because I had two pieces of vinyl to get it the size that I needed, I used painters tape in the center and also around the edges because I needed to paint the sides too.
I started painting the sign. Because of the kind of wood I was painting, the vinyl didn’t want to stick very well, so I was careful to try and not get too much paint in the letters so it wouldn’t bleed under the vinyl.
Once I had it all painted, I peeled off the vinyl.
I added a claw hook to the back so I could hang it up. I put it up in my 14 and 13 year olds bedroom, and they love it!
I think it makes a great statement piece in a boys bedroom.
