This Cricut Gift Guide for the Beginning Crafter post is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.
Do you love creating? Whether it’s creating decor for your home, creating gifts, or whatever you enjoy creating, using the Cricut can take your creating to the next level! I remember nearly 12 years ago at Christmas time, my in-laws gave me my very first Cricut machine. Before that point, I was crafty, and always looking for ways to create fun projects, but when I got my first Cricut, it totally took my crafting to the next level. Today I want to share this Cricut Gift Guide for the Beginning Crafter with you that is sure to take your crafting up a notch!
If you want to take your crafting up a notch, the first thing you’ll need is a Cricut Explore Air 2. Not only is this pink one so pretty, but these machines come in SO many different colors, and the Explore Air 2 can do so much! I’ve shared before how much I love my Cricut Explore Air 2 and have so many projects I’ve shared here that use the Air 2.
If you’ve got that Cricut machine, then you need Cricut Access. Almost all the projects I make use designs that are included in Cricut Access. I love that I can just open up Design Space and search for the design I need and I can usually find it with the images included in Cricut Access.
One of the very most fun projects to make are Iron-On projects, and if you want to create Iron-On projects that will last, then you need a Cricut EasyPress 2. There are a few sizes to choose from, but if you’re just getting one, I recommend the 9 x 9 size. It’s a great size for pillows, shirts, and totes.
Of course if you’ve got an EasyPress 2 then you also need the EasyPress Mat. Just make sure you always use the Mat and EasyPress on a firm surface.
Now, I know I already said that the 9 x 9 is a great addition to the craft room, but seriously, this little Cricut EasyPress Mini packs a lot of punch! It’s great to have close at hand when layering Iron-on projects, and it works great for small projects as well. It is the best little crafting tool I never knew I needed!
Now that you have your EasyPresses + Cricut machine, you’re ready to create some projects! Whether a shirt, pillow, tote, or anything else you can think to put Iron-On onto, you need a nice supply of Everyday Iron-On. There are plenty of colors to choose from as well!
The new Infusible Ink Blanks & Transfer Sheets are game changers. These are so fun to use to create! They’d make great gifts for the holiday season as well. You can create customized coasters, totes, and shirts and no one would even know that you might be a beginning crafter!
Of course if you’re creating using your Cricut machine, make sure you have some Machine Cutting Mats on hand. I love the combo packs because they have different grips on them for any type of materials.
The Basic Tool Set is a must if you’re starting out crafting with the Cricut machines. The spatula is great for removing small items from the cutting mats. These scissors are the perfect size and have sharp blades that cut most things. The little scrapper tool is perfect for cleaning your mats off when you’ve had an intricate cut. Tweezers and the weeding hook are great to have on hand as well.
If you plan to do a lot of vinyl type projects that require weeding, then you’ll need the Weeding Tool Set. See that hook that is 4th from the left? It’s a game changer! Best weeding hook ever!

One of my very favorite products to create projects with is Adhesive Foil. It literally is like a metal vinyl. The shimmer that it has takes any project to the next level and looks beautiful.
Now, if you’re a creative person at all, and you don’t have the Precision Cutting Bundle, you need to remedy that fast! These three tools combined are amazing! The TrueControl Knife is so sharp, easy to use, and cuts like a dream! Using it with the Cutting Ruler and the Self-Healing Mat are just matches made in Heaven. I use these tools all the time for anything from foam core board, to cutting vinyl. Seriously, these are amazing!
I realize that this is a little bit of a lengthy list, but all of these items on this Cricut Gift Guide are perfect for the Beginning Crafter. They will set you up for creating all the kinds of projects you want to create! You’ll have projects that looks so great, no one will know that you might be a beginning.
So whether you’re looking to spoil yourself or someone else for the holidays, this Cricut Gift Guide for the Beginning Crafter is sure to give you some great ideas! Once you have these fun items, then be sure to come back and catch some fun Cricut Tutorials!
