Is this not the cutest little “hello” you ever did see? When I saw this, I knew I had to have it, and guess what, you can have one too, if you want! The Wood Connection is now shipping select items, and this “hello” is one of them. You can also get some flowers just like my Potted Spring Flowers. Of course, they all come unfinished, so let me show you how I finished my hello.
I started by sanding the edges, and getting any extra saw dust off. I painted the edges yellow, so I could distress them later. I painted the turquoise color on. I had to do two coats. (I used a really cheap paint just cause I had it and it was the color that I wanted, but I wouldn’t recommend using cheap paint!) After the paint was dry, I finished it off by distressing the front of it with some fine sand paper.
You can see here how the yellow is showing through after I distressed it. The yellow doesn’t show quite as much as I had hoped it would though.
In some places it just looks like the wood is peeking through, but I still love the way it looks.
I added this little bit of ribbon to just add one more color to this.
I’m still trying to find the perfect place to put it in my house. Right now it is sitting on my Spring Table Runner, and it actually matches pretty well. It will probably stay there for now.
So what do you think? Can’t you imagine this cute little “hello” in all sorts of colors? You could even put paper on the front of it if you wanted to!

Absolutely love it!! The colors are SO cute! 🙂
This is darling!! Two of my favorite colors put together!!
This is really cute, Amy !
I love the font of these wooden letters! Plus your distressing technique with bright colors is AWESOME! I had not thought to do that, but I LOVE it! Thanks so much for sharing, I found you on Sugar Bee Crafts link-up.

LOVE this! Everytime I go to the Wood Connection, I can never find a shop button…I’ll go try again ’cause this is TOO CUTE!!!
So cute! If you’re looking for a bit more yellow, you could try using an ink pad to deepen the color on the distressed parts. I love it just how it is though. 🙂
