Why do paper straws have to be so fun!?! I love them, but not for drinking with (they taste like paper, yuck!), they are so fun to craft with. I’ve made a couple of garlands like this one before, and I just can’t help myself. I want one for all the holidays now. π I made a Christmas one a last year, and then I made a birthday one. Well, I decided I needed a Valentine Paper Straw Garland, and it goes perfectly with the Heart Book Page Banner I made too.
Get some packages of paper straws. I got most of mine from Pick Your Plum and some of them from Zurchers. I cut each straw into thirds. How many straws of each color you need will depend on how long your want your banner.
Then you just string them together. I used a large needle and baker’s twine. Just poke the needle right through the straw.
It matches and looks great with the Heart Book Page Banner I shared the other day. You could make both of them together!
When you are done, tie off both ends and you are finished and have the most fun garland to hang up!
It is so hard to really tell what it looks like from this picture. It looks pretty flat, but I promise it isn’t. Wouldn’t this be a fun addition to a mantel? I think it would!
Coming next week here on The Happy Scraps, I’ll have more Valentine Decor ideas, and some more Valentine gift ideas for your kids to give their friends or classmates. So stay tuned!

That is such a cute idea! I actually don’t mind drinking out of them, as long as it is at a party and I am not using it for the whole day. π
I have used a few for drinking out of that weren’t too bad. The very first one I tried drinking out of tho, went soggy so fast! It was awful! π I far prefer to craft out of these tho. π
This is really fun. It looks like a fun way to dress up a party space. You have lots of great ideas. I’ll have to come back and check out more.
I love both of these garlands, but the straw one is so much fun! Especially love the colors you chose. Great job & very festive!
That is so cute! I love it! That’s a must try for me. Thanks!
Paper straws are so much more practical for craft projects than for drinking with aren’t they! This is really pretty.
What a great idea, definitely pinning this for later! Visiting from Ginger Snap Crafts π

LOVE this banner! I seem to collect paper straws from the Target one spot – just can’t help myself. The kids love them, too. But we now have a huge collection. My head is already spinning on all the different ways this could be adapted. Thanks for the inspiration! Pinning!
So many times I read articles and cannot find any useful facts. Thank you for providing such useful facts. There is another place I found useful information https://conservationconstruction.com/ and I think people could also get some useful information here. I canβt wait to read more. Iβll definitely be back daily to see what new info I can learn from your website.
