Colorful Family Room Gallery Wall

Before we moved into our home last year, I had a gallery wall similar to this in our old kitchen. It was on of my favorite decorated areas in the home. I loved being able to look up when eating dinner and see this display of photos of our family. When we moved into our new home, I new I had to find a new place to put the same pieces on the wall. Our kitchen and dining area are just off of our family room now, so I decided to put this Colorful Gallery Wall up in our Family Room.

When I was choosing the colors of this wall, several years ago, I had just painted the kitchen cabinets white, the walls gray, and I was loving having pops of color. That hasn’t changed. Since these frames are now on the wall in the family room, I just made the whole room coordinate with it.

I painted our Entertainment Center green, to match the frames, and I picked up this cute orange rug from and online yard sale site for $5. I had wanted one of these IKEA rugs for a long time, in fact I have some fabric that matches it, but I had just never gotten around to pick one up. I don’t think they even carry them anymore. My sister saw it in a yard sale page, and tagged me. Now if I could just figure out how to get the corners to stay laying flat on the floor, that would be awesome!

Doesn’t the rug and entertainment center go so well together?

To get this all finished up, I did have to paint one more frame, so I could add a picture of my baby to the wall. I also added the & sign. I just spray painted that as well. I did finally take some new pictures of all my boys and updated those. I do need to take a group picture of them still and we need an updated family picture too. Eventually. 🙂

I shared how to make the Est. Sign and “Be” Subway Art several years ago and I still love them.

Pretty much my whole house is painted with the same color of paint, and with the exception of a few walls, if I started painted, there wouldn’t be a place to really stop, because we have rounded corners. I actually don’t mind the color of the walls and rather than having a wall with a pop of color, I just decorate with color.

One of my favorite things about this Colorful Gallery Wall is that there are lots of pictures of my family. In my Turquoise & Yellow Living Room Gallery Wall, I have a few pictures, but I have more on this family room wall, and I love it.
