Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving? I wish I could say that I was, but the reality is, we don’t even know what our Thanksgiving plans are yet. It’s supposed to be the year that we spend Thanksgiving with my family, but my mom isn’t sure if she will be around, she might be traveling, so we are waiting to hear about that. Some of my husbands family is also getting together and my mother in law told us that we were welcome to come if we needed. So we have a place to go if things don’t work out, but we just don’t know yet what we’ll be doing. 🙂 I hope you know what you are doing for Thanksgiving! I haven’t really had a lot of time to think about it though, between decorating my front porch for Christmas (then taking it back down for a few weeks) yesterday and creating these fun Simple & Elegant Thanksgiving Place Cards, plus all the usual stuff I’m doing, I’ve been busy!

Simple & Elegant Thanksgiving Place Cards Supplies:
- Clear Plastic Boxes (1 x 1 x 3)
- Adhesive Foil
- Baker’s Twine
- Mini Banner Punch
- Off White Cardstock
- Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore Air 2
- Fall Colored Candies
- Cut File (for personal use only)
Upload your cut file into Cricut Design Space. Size it to the size that you need to cut for your boxes. Cut a piece of adhesive foil to the size that you need for your cut. I was cutting two words of one color and two in another color. If you want to separate your words to cut different colors, you can see how I did that using the slice tool here. Start cutting it out once everything is ready.
I really love the watching the Cricut machines cut so small. Even after several years of watching it, I still get excited when any of these machines can cut so small with intricate detail! Anyway, once my words were cut out, I weeded them.
I applied transfer tape to the words, and then applied them to the boxes.
I think the adhesive foil was the perfect touch to these, don’t you think?
Once the vinyl is on all the boxes, fill them with your candy.
Punch out some small tags using a punch. You could use a circle punch, banner punch, or you could even just trim a piece of paper to a similar shape. Punch holes in the corner of your tags. Write the names of the Thanksgiving dinner guests on the tags.
With your baker’s twine, attach the tags to the candy boxes.
Didn’t these turn out fun?
I think the font of the adhesive foil words makes them feel so elegant, but they are so simple to make!
There are so many different kinds of candy that you could fill these with too!
